Princess Beatrice has got engaged to property business person Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. As part of her engagement announcement, she showed off her new diamond ring in photos. In one picture featuring both, the royal family member is shown wearing a diamond ring, whose worth is estimated to be more than £250,000.
The wedding is set to happen only in 2020, but this announcement of their engagement has already made much buzz online. Her ring is filled with both sentimental and personal symbols. The photos were shared by her sister Princess Eugenie.
This vintage-inspired engagement ring has a design, which takes cues from both Art Deco and Victorian elements. It was made with a round brilliant diamond, which is weighing around 3.5 carats and is thought to be colorless and flawless. According to jewelry experts, the round brilliant cut stone is likely mounted in a platinum band.
This one joins the list of popular diamond engagement rings of women in the royal family. Perhaps the rarest of them all is Princess Eugenie’s £7,000 ring, with a padparadscha sapphire and diamonds. The most popular of the lot is Meghan Markle’s three-stone engagement ring. That ring with a three-stone setting, is popular partly because two side diamonds in it are from Princess Diana’s jewelry collection. On the other hand, Kate Middleton’s 18-Karat white gold ring is estimated to be worth £300,000, and features a blue sapphire that is encircled by 14 diamonds.
Princess Beatrice has been dating Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi since about the nuptials of her sister Eugenie in October 2018. Princess Eugenie of York appears to be delighted that her sister is engaged, and she took photographs that marked the special occasion.
Beatrice wore an expensive floral dress in the pictures, where she is seen cuddling her future husband. The fact that “Edo”, as he is fondly called, is wearing a dark outfit has made the whitish ring stand out. It all seems planned; after all, had he worn a lighter or a whitish colored dress, her ring would not have been just as easily noticeable in the picture. Anyhow, the couple also posted another photo that gives a close-up view of her ring, made of what appears to be a white metal.
The location of these photographs has not been revealed, but it could be a residence of the Queen, which has traditionally been used in royal engagement shoots.
